The Old Man and The Oak

The Old Man and The Oak

There was an old man who lived in a wood
He wore his old boots and a cloak with no hood
His favorite thing was to rest by a tree
“We have lots in common,” he said,”you and me.”
“We’re both old and rugged, and own many years,
With lives full of happiness, loss and tears.”
The oak tree he lay on seemed to understand
He was very old, and so was the man
On the old oak did the man pass away
The place he was happiest, day after day.

  • Tyler,

I think you have created an exceptional piece here with depth that does a wonderful job of comparing the old man and the tree. I could not help but think of the strength that both must have and what a positive impact they have had on your young life. KUDOS (congratulations) and Hat Tip to Tyler!
