After reading this I quickly went over the few small story's that I've written over the months and realized quite a few things that I was missing in them that you've stated here would make it easier for Readers to follow along with what's happening. I haven't read Carrie, yet at least, but I could easily follow the examples explaining each part like I knew the story, which helped me understand each section a little better.
