Great article. I especially like the tips about targeting appropriate publishers for special books.

Also, thanks for bringing it to my attention that I don't have my email address anywhere - I'll fix that today.

This is really a good article. I think that many of the messages that children may send sometimes would be more implied. Using a deep third person penetration would work ever so nicely.

Laura, great article.

As I was writing my book "Sensitivity 101 for the Heterosexual Male" my editor suggested I adapt to be a children book, but I had no idea how.

The story is one of the journey that a young boy takes after the divorce of his parents and how he searches for the the two desires all humans share: to be accepted for who they are and to be truly happy.
The first ten chapters have lessons that he learns from the people in his life and this is what the editor wanted me to make into a "self-help" book for younger children.

I have already adapted it into a YA book by eliminating all the R rated situations and making it a PG trating, changing the title and the cover and hopefully it will be published early 2010.

I appreciate the ideas and hints you have in your article and will now take on my challenge--to make this into a children's book also.

Thanks for a great article.
