"Everyone has at least one book in them-I firmly believe that. But bookstore shelves are packed with titles, all competing for readers' attention. So how can you tell if your book idea is ready for the competitive publishing business? The key is to target your market and zero in on an unfilled need." Melinda Copp explains how to develop your best-selling book idea.
Created by writers, for writers.
For many aspiring authors, the prospect of landing a book deal sounds like the ultimate ticket to success. And while a contract with a major press can come with some perks, there can be some unexpected surprises along the way. Here’s what you need to know to get into the game with your eyes wide open.
About Us
The Cuckleburr Times is an online magazine created by writers for writers. Our goal is to seek out and publish articles by those wonderful but relatively unknown writers, poets and authors online that deserve more visibility. We produce a magazine with high quality, informative articles that writers no matter their niche, experience level or genre will find both useful and entertaining. We’re also glad to do book reviews and share book excerpts.
There are many great writers and experts on writing out there who have created some excellent pieces that are undeservedly under the radar. We find as many of them as we can for our readers and give the authors a chance to showcase their work.
Every author and guest article is handpicked by us. You’ll find no fluff pieces nor thinly disguised ads here. We don’t accept every submission because of our strict quality standards. We expect our article contributors to take just as much pride in their work as we do in our magazine.
Does it sound like you fit the bill? Then we’d love to publish your work here at The Cuckleburr Times. Submission is simple, just check out the Submit Your Work tab for more information on how to do so. Our call for submissions never closes. And it’s free!
Looking for a book reviewer? You can contact me about getting a book review done too.
